Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (IAOHNS) is an official organization of Otorhinolaryngologists (ENT Surgeons) of India and it is affiliated to International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngological Societies (IFOS). The aim of the Academy is to encourage and advance the study and practice of the science of Otorhinolaryngology and to promote academic interaction among the Otorhinolaryngologists of India and abroad and also to cooperate with other associations related to Otorhinolaryngology and allied sciences. The purpose is to have a purely academic forum for the advancement of Otorhinolaryngology.
The first inaugural convention of the Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery was held in Chennai between 12th and 14th December, 2014. The second conference was held in PGI, Chandigarh and the third annual conference is scheduled in Kolkata for august 26th to 28th, 2016.
We encourage scientific research and experimental work on Otorhinolaryngological problems. IAOHNS organizes scientific programmes e.g. conferences, CME's, Seminars, Symposia, Workshops in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck surgery regularly and facilitates faculty members to present papers, participate in CME's, workshops, Seminars, Symposia and visit reputed centers in India and abroad.
The IAOHNS also has mentorship programs where junior members are paid monthly stipend for advanced training in different subspecialties of ENT at some designated centers of excellence in India. The programs are from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 9 months.
Most senior members of the IAOHNS are renowned academicians and well known clinicians and who on meet at regular intervals to further academics / research / training in ENT related subjects.
